Did you know that fish throwing happens to be one of the biggest traditions in Seattle, Washington?
If this is new information, you’ll definitely have to experience it firsthand. The tradition began back in 1986 at the Pike’s Place Market on the corner of Pike Street and Pike Place.
The shop was about to go bankrupt when its owners decided they would make selling fish an art. Rather than wrapping fish up in paper and calling it a day, they decided to create a show-like atmosphere — featuring flying fish, customer games, and employee performances.
Within four years, Pike’s Place Market became a top tourist destination. When you visit, you can expect a massive crowd and a heck of a lot of fun. The above and below videos give you an excellent idea of what goes on at the market.
We hope you enjoy — and we definitely recommend visiting in person.More Like This: News, Travel
